James Ivey

James Ivey was born probably about 1840. He married Rebecca Smyrl on 21 April 1865 in Opelika, Lee County, AL. They had children Mollie (Mary) in 1869, James (JA/Jim) in 1873, and William (Thomas) in 1876. James and Rebecca later moved to Calhoun County, AL.

Previously Rebecca was married 4 Oct 1857 to William Thomas Freeman in Russell County, AL. She married James Ivey after Freeman died 20 Jun 1863 in the Civil War. William and Rebecca had two children, Georgia Ann Freeman born 17 Jan 1858 and John Franklin Freeman born 23 Feb 1861 in Russell County, AL.
